A successful garden design is a collaboration between client and designer. By listening to you and learning about your lifestyle, requirements and goals for your space, we will be able to develop a design that works for both you and your family. We will have meetings at each stage to keep you updated.
You may choose to build your new garden all at once or in phases. You decide what fits best to your life commitments and budget.
We hope this guide helps clarifying what is involved in the process. Please feel free to contact us with further questions.
During our consultation, we will gather as much information as possible regarding you and your family lifestyle, requirements and aspirations for your garden.
From that information, we will produce a client brief focusing on your requirements and goals, as well as a proposal with a detailed fee structure to develop a design for your space.
The next step will be booking a Site Survey, so we can have all the technical details of the site, such as measurements and soil characteristics. Depending on the complexity of the site, this survey will either be carried out by the designers or a surveyor. This survey will enable us to produce the Concept Plans.
Once the concept plans are made, we will meet you to present the proposed layout for your space, including a mood board, 2D plans and visuals. The aim of this meeting is to agree on a layout for your garden, as well as to have a look at materials to be used.
It will depict your chosen layout, materials and the proposed planting pallet so you can have a real feel of what your garden will look like.
We will organise the tender documentation for the landscape contractors, so they can have a clear view of the work required and how you would like it to be built. This enables them to offer a realistic price quote to bring your design to life. If you don't have a landscape contractor in mind, we will help you to get quotes from reputable companies.
Depending on the complexity of your site and design, technical construction drawings will be provided for the construction of features, as well as any details required for structural engineer approval.
We will meet the landscapers on the first day of the build for the setting out of the design on site. Once the build commences, if you would like, we offer optional site visits to make sure all is going as planned.
Once your building work has started, we will prepare the Planting Plans with details of location for plants in your garden. These plans include plant profiles and their maintenance requirements. We will also prepare a detailed plant list with exact names, quantities and size (pot sizes) for budgeting.
Additionally, after your garden is built, for a fee, we are able to offer the procurement of the plants in your list and place them in the borders ready for planting.
